Travel to France with “La Condition” and “Pédale rurale”

In addition to 4 short films, France is present this year in the program with 2 feature films. In the fictional film La Condition, we follow the relationship of the bourgeois woman Victoire and her maid Céleste, in a drama that explores with grace and acuity female identity, class struggle and the weight of roles imposed by society. In the documentary Pédale rurale, we see how Benoît and a whole group of LGBTIQ+ people decide to organize a Pride march in a small rural village in the French region of Périgord Vert, encountering unexpected resistance to forge this new visibility. Two very different universes, which show the path that still has to be traveled, in France, to achieve a better social acceptance of queer people.

La Condition – Friday 5, 6pm, and Tuesday 9pm, 10pm

Rural Pedal – Tuesday 9, 8 p.m.
