Cristi, a young Bucharest policeman who keeps his homosexuality a secret, will be forced to intervene in an assault by a homophobic and ultranationalist group in a movie theatre during the screening of a queer film. The tensions and miseries of an entire society are then concentrated in this space. Based on a true event, Poppy Field reflects on the vulnerabilities and contradictions of a protagonist in constant conflict with himself because of his heteronormative environment.
