Girlhood

Girlhood is a film as authentic and charismatic as it is exciting and vital. Rihanna’s Diamonds attest to that. Oppressed by her family environment, the null prospects at school and by the law imposed by the boys in her neighborhood, Marieme begins a new life when she meets three rebellious girls who refuse to follow the established rules. She changes her name, her way of dressing and drops out of school to be accepted into the band, trusting that this is the path to freedom.
