During her life, Patricia Highsmith signed more than 22 novels, many of which were adapted for the big screen, the best known being Strangers on a Train, The Talented Mr. Ripley and Carol. The latter, a partly autobiographical novel, was the first lesbian story with a happy ending in the United States. Based on the personal writings of Patricia Highsmith and the stories of her family and her lovers, Loving Highsmith reveals unknown sides to the life and work of the famous writer of suspense novels.
