Round table “The revolution of Arab and Persian queer cinema” – Thursday 11, 6pm

Published On: 25 May, 2026

Following this year’s theme, we propose our traditional round table on the theme “The revolution of Arab and Persian queer cinema”. While it is true that Arab and Iranian LGBTIQ+ collectives are still fighting to achieve fundamental rights, their queer scenes, spurred on by the globalization of social networks or the circulation of LGBTIQ audiovisual productions, have become increasingly visible. To talk about this slow but irremediable (r)evolution, different Lebanese professionals from the audiovisual world will be with us, with the Lebanese queer community perhaps being the most active in this movement: the cultural curator and independent programmer Amar Sokhen, the producer and filmmaker Liliane Rahal and the director Mohammad Moe Sabbah, with the moderation of the director, photographer and performer Hadi Moussally, alias Salma Zahore.
