A little taste of Asia with “3670”, “A Thing About Kashem” and “Listen Up!”
As every year, our section East of Eden proposes to explore queer views of Asia or the Asian diaspora around the world. We will travel to South Korea this year with 3670 to discover, through the eyes of Cheol-jun, a gay North Korean defector based in Seoul, that enjoying freedom is not as easy as it may seem. In the short comedy A Thing About Kashem, we will see the unexpected reaction of a married man at a hairdressing salon in Bangladesh; and in Listen Up!, an adorable comedy set in the Pakistani community of Oslo, we will follow in the footsteps of young Mahmoud and his younger brother, Ali, who lets everyone know, from a young age, that he is not a boy but a girl.
3670 – Thursday 11, 10pm
A Thing About Kashem and Listen Up! – Sunday 7th, 10pm
