Afternoon of sport with “The Last Taboo” and “Capitanes”. Friday 13/06, 6pm
Homophobia in football is still a long way from disappearing. We will discuss this on Friday 13/06 at 6pm with a very special screening: that of the documentary The Last Taboo, prerequisite for the short film Capitanes.
The Last Taboo: Football is a passion for fans all over the world, but for gay men it is “one of the most hostile environments”. There are 500,000 professional footballers around the world, but only seven have publicly declared their homosexuality. The documentary addresses the internal and external conflicts of these brave men who always face the same problem: the choice between self-denial or liberation.
Captains: During a Cup semi-final full of tension and aggression, the two captains of a football team have an argument that ends up revealing what is hidden in the first division locker room: the silence of homosexual footballers.
